Liverpool: City Region’s LEP Publishes New Business Plan

iverpool City Region LEP today (Monday 9th July) publishes its first Business Plan setting out priorities and actions to accelerate growth across the area’s economy.

The plan builds on the region’s Key Sector Growth Strategy focusing on existing strengths and assets identified for their potential to attract new investment generating new opportunities and additional growth.

Liverpool City Region LEP has the highest level of private sector engagement of any LEP in the country. Many of its 450 existing Members, and other Partners, attended a major Stakeholder Event at ACC Liverpool today to launch the Business Plan.

LEP Chair Robert Hough told delegates: “No other LEP can boast the private sector- led influence that our 450 Members offer. It is with this strength that we can look to expand and grow our economy, confident that what we do continues to have the private sector at its heart.”

He added: “We will continue to deliver in our key growth areas of SuperPort, Low Carbon, the Visitor Economy and the Knowledge Economy, but with a renewed focus on where the added value can be found. This Business Plan focuses on that core delivery work and also the new responsibilities we have as a LEP to drive forward City Region growth and job creation.”

A copy of the Business Plan, together with Robert Hough’s address to delegates, is attached. Action Plans setting out the key sectors’ potential to create 100,000 new jobs by 2020 can also be downloaded at www.liverpoollep.org.
